Hard Questions about Patriotism

United nations flag
How do people connect with their country? Does geography change the way people think? Does patriotism create monocultures? Are monocultures good? Do monocultures stifle creativity? Are successful cities diverse and multicultural or traditional and a monoculture?

Do I belong to a country? Should I fight for my country or for my beliefs? Which is more important? If people didn't belong to a country, would there be wars? If people belong to a country, to whom does the country belong? Do people get treated differently, depending on the country they were born in?Who has the power to make rules for a country? What power does one country have over another? Do people fight for their country, the values of their social system, or the desires of people in power?
