Time wasted planning

For all but those who are time efficient, time is better spent doing things, rather then planning how to use time. Many people spend their time planning only to give up before they start.

This is me...through and through. I spend a great deal of my time planning how I'm going to spend my time...rather than actually doing something with the time I have. I must say though, that planning what I'm going to do with my time helps me prioritise and stops me from wasting time on less important things. Someone once said “For every minute spent in organizing, an hour is earned.” However, I've also grown to be somewhat more spontaneous with my use of time and I find this quite invigorating. For me time is one of the most valuable resources. As Harvey McKay says... “Time is free, but it's priceless. You can'town it, but you can use it. You can't keep it, but you can spend it. Once you've lost it you can never get it back.”

Planning your time can make you more productive, if you put your plan into action.
But what I see often is people wasting time because they are thinking about what to do, rather then doing something.
Another benefit of doing things is you naturally find the best solution. The more you do something the better you get at doing it.

You are right about this, I think it comes down to balance. All talk and no work is no good, all work and no planning is also no good.

True... very true! Sometimes, it happens to me too. I think to much in all things I have to do, and when I want to scratch them off my checklist I realize that I can´t because I haven't finish them. I guess planning works but sometimes is better just to do it. Keeping the goal in mind helps me make the time to accomplish it.
